Service-dog trainers in Indiana

We don’t have a vetted listing in Indianayet — but with thirty years working with the training community, we have honest options for you below.

What to do when there’s no local listing

Indianadoesn’t have a vetted listing on our directory yet. That’s not because no one in Indiana trains service dogs — it’s because we haven’t personally vetted one yet, and we’re cautious about adding orgs we can’t vouch for.

Three honest paths from here:

  • 1. Use the cross-state programs below. Most national programs (Canine Companions, K9s for Warriors, Guiding Eyes) place dogs nationally or have regional centers within driving distance.
  • 2. Find a CCPDT- or KPA-certified independent trainer. Their directories are searchable by state. Look for a trainer with assistance-dog experience, not just pet-dog obedience.
  • 3. Self-train with structured support. The ADA permits self-training, and our training hub walks through the foundation, public-access manners, and six task-category playbooks. Many handlers in underserved states go this route successfully.

Cross-state programs (also worth knowing)

These organizations place dogs nationally or maintain certified-trainer directories searchable by state. None of them paid us to list them.

Indiana state laws

Federal ADA / FHA / ACAA rules apply nationally, but Indiana may layer on additional protections, definitions, or service-dogs-in-training rules.
